Patchway to host Santa Run in December and repeat Brabazon Half Marathon in 2025

Its time to think festive as Patchway looks to host a family Santa Run in the run-up to Christmas.

On Sunday 15th December, the town’s first Santa Run will take place from Norman Scott Park with two distances available for runners to take on.

Expect plenty of festive cheer at this festive 5k and 10k Fun Run is based at Norman Scott with Santa suits available to purchase with your race entry or at the event. After the run, you'll be able to meet Santa himself.

The route will be run on footpaths around the town including two loops of Norman Scott Park itself, so is perfect for all abilities.

Patchway Town Council is also excited to announce that following a successful launch in April 2024, the Brabazon Half Marathon and 10K will return on Sunday 6th April 2025.

The route takes in Patchway, Bradley Stoke and Little Stoke with participants undertaking one circuit for the 10k distance, and two circuits for the Half Marathon.

The stewarded route will take runners through the Aztec West Lakes, quieter lanes, residential areas, and pathed open spaces including across The Common and around Willow Brook Nature Reserve before heading back into Patchway for a full circuit of Norman Scott Park before the finish line near the Pavilion.

This event will feature live music, cakes and sweets stalls, food and drink from Snack Attacks and alcoholic drinks at the Patchway Sports & Social Club, and the opportunity for residents to cheer the runners home after their endurance feat.

Both these exciting events are the brainchild of local residents Scott Panschuk of YPB Events Andy Maxted of Tri-Max Events who have created running events across many places and who successfully launched the Brabazon Half Marathon and 10K event from Patchway in 2024.

Both events are partnering with Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, and local partners including Patchway Town Council and Snack Attacks in the Park.

Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ’It is brilliant that we have this festive addition to our new running events in Patchway. I am really looking forward to being at the Santa Run and delighted we are repeating the success of the Half Marathon event in 2025’.
