SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL

(Gloucester Road Subway, Patchway) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2026


Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to foot passengers the entire length of Gloucester Road Subway.


This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pump maintenance works. The order will be operative from 21 January 2026 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 day duration, between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm.


Alternative route: A38 Footway, pedestrian crossing on Hayes Way, pedestrian crossing on A38, A38 Footway and vice versa.
