SOUTH GLOUCESTERSHIRE COUNCIL
(A38 Gloucester Road, Patchway and A38 Gloucester Road North, Filton) (Temporary 20 mph Speed Limit) Order 2026
Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:-
a) prohibit, temporarily, any vehicle proceeding at a speed in excess of 20 miles per hour in the length of road specified in the Schedule to this notice; and
b) suspend, temporarily, the South Gloucestershire Council (A38 Gloucester Road North, Filton) (Restricted Roads) (40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2014 in so far as it relates to the length of road specified in the Schedule to this notice, for the duration of the order.
This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon bridge repair works. The order will be operative from 25 July 2026 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The restriction however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 months duration.

A38 Gloucester Road and A38 Gloucester Road North | that length which extends from a point 75 metres south of its junction with Hayes Way in a southerly direction for a distance of 415 metres (whole length of flyover) |
