The Patchway Town Council Community Larder based at Norman Scott Park is open in the Patchway Town Council offices at Callicroft House, Rodway Road during office opening hours.
The Larder is available for residents facing the challenge of the cost of living crisis and access to daily food supplies, and will stock basic dried foodstuffs including pasta, rice, tinned food, UHT milk, tea and coffee.
In 2024, the Council successfully applied for a Community Food Fund Grant from South Gloucestershire Council to support stocking the Larder across this financial year.
The Council has seen an increase in people coming into Callicroft House enquiring about access to foodbanks and basic foodstuffs. The Council team are able to provide advice or signposting to people on access to further support services in the area.
Coniston Community Centre at The Parade also offers a daily Community Larder including dried foodstuffs as well as fresh, chilled and frozen food. The Cafe also offers a Pay It Forward scheme whereby a meal can be purchased for someone in need.
The North Bristol & South Glos Food Bank at St Chads Church Hall on Rodway Road is open Thursdays – 10am to 12pm for clients and donations. To access foodbank support, you need to obtain a foodbank referral issued by any front-line professional including schools, GPs and South Gloucestershire Council. A referral is available from the South Gloucestershire Council Hub on Rodway Road. More information is available at nbsg.foodbank.org.uk/location/patchway
