Patchway Short Mat Bowling Club based at Patchway Community Centre have recently taken delivery of an electrically powered winder to ensure the club remains inclusive for members of all ages to participate.
The winder was supported through a Community Grant of £750.00 from Patchway Town Council, and the Club has successfully received funding from other sources including a Sports Lottery Grant.
The Club is thrilled with the new equipment which means that the task of rolling out and winding back up a heavy bowling mat is accessible and simple for all members of the Club.
Suzanne Howard, Town Clerk at Patchway Town Council was lucky enough to pop into the Community Centre as the new winder was being activated, and was delighted to see the fantastic investment from the Council through the £750.00 Community Grant.
In 2025, Patchway Town Council awarded £8150.00 to ten locally based groups in the Town Council Community Grants programme.
Each year, Patchway Town Council provides grants that benefit our local community and residents. The Community Grants Programme will re-open around 2nd June 2026. More information on the programme can be found at www.patchwaytowncouncil.gov.uk/grants.
