Patchway Festival takes a break in 2026

Patchway Town Council has needed to absorb significant un-forecasted expenditure over the past year including though not limited to taking on the guardianship of the former sports & social club building at Norman Scott Park when it closed in October 2024, and the costs of a number of by-elections.

The Town Council has taken the difficult decision to pause the Patchway Festival for one year to support a short-term rebalancing of the Council reserves, and as a result there will be no Festival in July 2026. This is intended as a one year pause with the summer festival returning in June or July 2027.

The Town Council has just approved a budget for 2026-2027 that adds a below inflation 1.28% increase to the precept in order that local residents see minimal change in their Council Tax for the Town Council in the coming financial year.

Parish and town councils are required by law to hold minimum general reserves, and Patchway is seeking to ensure financial sustainability of these reserves into the future.

The Council is delighted that the former club building now has a new tenant in the Junior Darts Corporation which helps build resilience and adds an exciting new dimension to Norman Scott Park’s existing fantastic sports facilities, food and leisure offer, green spaces and play areas.

Patchway Festival is a focal community event and the Council will be taking a close look at how the 2027 Festival might be improved and developed for and with the community.
