On Tuesday 14th May, Mayor of Patchway Cllr Dayley Lawrence, Cllr Keith Walker and Cllr Denise Lansdown attended an event at Lovell Place Care Home for Dementia Action Week.
The day at the Care Home on Sparrowbill Way included the opportunity for visitors including the Mayor and Councillors to board the Virtual Dementia bus to experience what it is like for those living with dementia. This was a very impactful experience for everyone who took part.
The Mayor and Councillors mixed with visitors and residents with a plentiful supply of wonderful cakes on offer, and great conversations with everyone including the hard-working staff.
Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ‘I am delighted myself and my fellow Councillors attended this event to raise awareness of dementia which can affect so many people living with the condition or looking after a loved one. The virtual dementia experience has highlighted to us what this disease can be like to live with. Thank you to the whole team at Lovell Place for making us feel so welcome’.
