The Marmalade Trust is a leading loneliness charity for all ages and currently looking for more Marmalade Companion Volunteers and referrals.
Marmalade Companions originally started as a response to the Covid crisis and the project will now continue in 2024.
Volunteers are telephone based and requires approx. 1 - 1.5 hours flexible time a week, from March until mid July. This is usually around 30 mins on a weekly phone call with matched participant, plus additional time to do some signposting research about things the participant mentions they are interested in.
Referrals are aimed at people who are keen to make new social connections, but need some support (over the phone) to find out about local ideas. There is also the potential for volunteers to meet them for the first time to a new activity or group.
