Celebrating Success in Patchway

At the Annual Assembly of Patchway on Monday 23rd May 2022, Patchway Town Council celebrated success of residents and presented some prestigious awards to deserving members of the public and an employee of the Town Council.

Just under 70 people packed into Callicroft House for the Annual Town Assembly. The evening started off with a welcome speech from newly elected Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence. This was shortly followed by a thought provoking presentation from the student council at Patchway Community School. The group of students spoke very well about what positive changes they would like to see in Patchway as well as areas where they could get involved with. The students even held a Q&A session with residents around the topics of vandalism and accountability.

The next order of business was to award the winners of the 'Four Seasons Photography Competition'. These winners have had their winning photos printed into the first ever Patchway calendar and each of them were presented with a certificate and a £20 Almondsbury Garden Centre Voucher by the Mayor. Photographs of those who were present can be seen below.

The Mayor of Patchway also gave out a special award to Mr Justin Aldhouse. Justin received a long service award from Patchway Town Council upon his retirement from the Council. Justin has been a dedicated member of Patchway Town Council's outdoor team since 1998 and has proven popular with fellow staff, Councillors and residents. Justin was awarded with a certificate, Bristol Blue Glass award and a paperweight from the Town Council. The Town Council would like to wish Justin well upon his retirement from the Council.

The meeting ended with Parishioners raising issues with parking and litter in Patchway, something the Town Council will look into.

It was a very positive community meeting and we cannot wait until the next one!
