A Positive Internal Audit Report for 2020/2021

Patchway Town Council, at their meeting on 15th June 2021, received the Internal Audit report for the financial year 2020/2021 and there were no recommendations arising from the report meaning a clean bill of health for the Town Council.

Statute requires all town and parish councils to arrange for an independent internal audit (IA) examination of their accounting records and systems of internal control and for the conclusions to be reported each year in the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR).

In the report from Auditing Solutions LTD, Patchway Town Council's Internal Auditor Stuart Pollard states that, "We are pleased to again acknowledge the significant improvement in accounting arrangements, the quality of retained documentation and approach to governance matters even in these continuing exceptional times due to the Covid pandemic".

Patchway Town Council at their meeting on 15th June thanked the Officers of the Council and the Councillors for their help in achieving a positive audit, compared to the position of the Council in 2018. Remarkable progress has been in made by way of the Council's processes and controls and this report sets the tone for reports in the coming years.
