Santa Run and festive fun flows at Christmas in the Park 2025

On Saturday 6th December, Patchway Town Council and YPB Events rolled out a new look Christmas in the Park daytime event at the town’s Norman Scott Park.

It may have been blustery and the rain made itself known, though the day kicked off with a wonderful array of Santa’s, elves, antelopes and other festive costumed people taking part in the second Patchway Santa Run organised by local resident Scott Panschuk of YPB Events.

Launched by the Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence, runners competed in 5K and 10K distances finishing with a medal presented by the Mayor as they arrived back in the Park.

Moved indoors from its planned outdoors marquee, the Christmas Market and fun of the fair stalls took on the tinselly baton insider the former sports & social club building for the remainder of the afternoon. Craft stalls, pet treats, wooden gifts, cakes and sweets all on sale from local traders and groups, alongside tombola, hook a duck and donuts. Local MP Claire Hazelgrove also popped into the event to speak to local people and stall-holders.

Santa Claus had his Grotto inside Snack Attacks ensuring the younger residents of Patchway had a chance to submit their Christmas list, and Santa made a few trips to the Market to surprise younger (and older) residents who added a few choice requests.

Tickets were selling well for the Mayor’s Grand Raffle 2025 with all donations being raised for the Mayor of Patchway’s chosen beneficiary - 2nd Patchway Scout Group. The Mayor drew the Raffle to conclude a festive day in Norman Scott Park with a wonderful selection of prizes for all ages.

Thank you to everyone who braved the wind to visit ‘Christmas in the Park’. We already have plans for something different for December 2026, and maybe a little closer to the centre of the town’s commercial hub. Watch this space.

Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence said,’ Ho ho ho, Patchway. You are all brilliant and it was fabulous to see so many of you across our Christmas day. From the Santa’s braving the wind, to everyone who visited the Market and Santa’s Grotto. You know how to ring in the season’.
