Patchway Town Council receives two grants for local community initiatives

Patchway Town Council has successfully applied for two grants from South Gloucestershire Council and the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority to support the creation of a brand new Christmas initiative for the town in 2026; and to continue support of the Community Larder at the Town Council office.

The Council has received £4000.00 from the South Gloucestershire Council administered ‘Creative High Street fund’ which enables local organisations to put on creative and cultural activities in its own area. The Town Council’s application focuses on creating an exciting, creative and inclusive Christmas event and festive environment along the town’s primary commercial area of Rodway Road.

The event will be a partnership across other Rodway Road based organisations including Patchway Community Centre, and also an opportunity for organisations and businesses from across the town to be involved in this exciting new Christmas initiative.

The funding for the Creative High Street Fund comes from the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority’s Regional Recovery Fund.

The Council has also received a Community Food Fund grant of £900.00 from South Gloucestershire Council to support the ongoing Community Larder based at the Town Council office at Callicroft House, Rodway Road.

The Fund supports providers to purchase additional food supplies or run public food aid facilities for residents of South Gloucestershire. The Community Larder at Callicroft House is one of three community larders across the town which support residents with essential items for a few days.

Mayor of Patchway Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ‘The Council is really appreciative of the funding from South Gloucestershire Council and the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority for these two brilliant initiatives from the Town Council which have been created to directly support our residents and business community’.
