Patchway Town Council presents awards for our three town schools

In July, Patchway Town Council is delighted to have presented four awards for students at Patchway Community School, Coniston Primary School and Callicroft Primary Academy.

Mayor Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence was delighted to have presented the Alderman Scott Award 2025 to Laura Cottrell at a special Awards Recognition Ceremony for students and families at Aztec Hotel.


Laura was presented with the Alderman Scott Trophy for being an exemplary student throughout her time at Patchway Community School. Laura represented the school in multiple sports, activities, and events including rugby, football, netball and athletics. She has supported younger students and helped coach them in netball in an informal role and demonstrated excellent leadership skills.


Patchway Twinning Awards are awarded in recognition of outstanding achievement in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) at all three schools in Patchway. At the Aztec Hotel ceremony, Amanda Emelionwu in Year 8 at Patchway Community School was awarded the Twinning Trophy in recognition of her exceptional dedication, consistent hard work, and unwavering commitment to excellence in MFL.


Amanda studies both French and Spanish, regularly attends Spanish Club and her perseverance, positive attitude, and willingness to go above and beyond has set her apart as a true role model within the schools MFL learning community.


Caitlin Smith in Year 6 at Coniston Primary School received the Twinning Award in recognition of her incredibly hard work on her Spanish learning for the past two years. Caitlin has made massive progress and the school have seen her not only supporting other children, but also racking up 48 hours of work on the Duolingo Spanish app.


Chantal Cheuk in Year 3 at Callicroft Primary Academy was awarded the Patchway Town Council Twinning Award for outstanding progress in French.


Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence said,’ All four of these young people at our local schools have shown how brilliant they are in learning new languages. It is fantastic that this town has such amazing young people who have deserved the Council’s recognition. Congratulations!’.
