Patchway Town Council awards £4400.00 in first round of Community Grants

Patchway Town Council is pleased to announce funding of £4400.00 to five local groups in Round 1 of the Town Council Community Grants programme. Each year, Patchway Town Council provides grants that benefit our local community and residents.
The recipients of the July round of Patchway Town Council Community Grants are:
Aretians Rugby Football Club have been granted £400.00 to support the creation of a safe, outdoor space equipped with durable furniture and heaters. The space is designed to offer families and users of the community-based rugby club a secure, welcoming environment to enjoy food, drinks and social time.
Little Stoke & District Ladies Club have been granted £250.00 to support the club’s health and wellbeing programme for women of all ages. Many members are widowed, single and may not see people regularly and the club offers camaraderie and friendship through activities and events. The Link Club based at the Casson Centre in Rodway Road have been granted £500.00 to support the valuable work they do in supporting people with additional needs. The Link Club provide a warm, supportive environment for members to access a social life outside of their homes which is sensitive to their needs.
Patchway Cricket Club have been granted £500 towards the funding of specialist Surrey loam required to maintain the wicket to a high playing standard. Patchway Cricket Club are a long-standing local cricket club providing opportunities for players, at all levels including a thriving junior section. The club are supported by a strong volunteer army who look after the maintenance of the wicket.
Turtle CYP have been awarded a larger grant of £2750.00 to support the delivery of the Summer Playscheme in Patchway this August. This locally-based charity provide an essential free service for children, young people and their families in the school holidays. Activities include arts & crafts, games, sports, reading challenges and fun activities. The service is supported by volunteers including from Patchway who develop essential life and working skills.
