Patchway Town Council is pleased to announce funding of £1300 to three local groups as part of the Community Grants Programme. Each year, Patchway Town Council provides grants that benefit our local community and residents.
The recipients of the July round of community grants are:
The Link Club based at the Casson Centre in Rodway Road who have been awarded £500 to support the valuable work they do in supporting people with additional needs. The Link Club provide a social educational space and run cookery workshops fitness classes, healthy living workshops, money management workshops, as well as Drama, pool, arts and crafts table top games and many other activities. The Group also access the community by going bowling, to the cinema, and on various trips to local places.
Patchway Cricket Club have been awarded £500 towards a new boundary rope trolley to support the thriving Junior teams who play on different size pitches; with a requirement for the 97kg rope to be moved a number of times across the week of matches. Patchway Cricket Club are long standing local cricket club, providing opportunities for all players, at all levels to play cricket. The Club have recently revised their Junior Section and this season have six different teams/age groups playing and representing Patchway.
Coniston Community Centre and the Patchway Food Partnership have been awarded £300 to support a new community larder located in the Centre at The Parade to address the cost of living crisis and food poverty in the town.
We will hear more about how these grants from Patchway Town Council have supported these groups and look forward to more applications for round two over the summer.
