The Mayor Patchway Town Council, Cllr Dayley Lawrence is delighted to have presented the Alderman Scott Award 2024 at the Years 9-11 Annual Rewards Evening at Patchway Community School on 18th July 2024.
The Alderman Scott Award, reintroduced for the first time since 2018 is named after Norman Scott, the first Chairman of Patchway Parish Council in 1953 and prior to that, as a Gloucestershire County Councillor he fought for the establishment of a secondary school for Patchway.
Thomas Barnes was presented with the Alderman Scott Commendation 2024 for being an outstanding role model within the school through his dedication to his education and his impeccable behaviour. In Year 11, Thomas accrued over 150 positive behaviour points, zero negative points zero unauthorised absences. Thomas is a shining example of a student who has truly embraced his time at Patchway Community School.
Ryan Attwell was awarded the Alderman Scott Award 2024 for his outstanding contribution to life at Patchway School through his dedication to the technical theatre in the school, lighting all shows and presentations, providing sound and microphones at a moments notice and generally supporting the school and its community whenever called upon.
Ryan received a silver cup which is held for one year and awarded to a pupil who give exceptional service to the community of their local secondary school, Patchway Community School.
Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ‘It is fantastic the Alderman Scott Award has been reintroduced for our young people who show such commitment to their school community. I am so impressed with both Ryan and Thomas’s commitment to their school and was delighted to make these presentations’.
