Nokia team enhance community with volunteer litter at The Tumps

On Tuesday 2nd December, a community litter-pick was carried out by the NetGen team from Nokia at Aztec West business estate.

Twenty young graduates and apprentices from Nokia selected a community litter pick in Patchway for their annual volunteering programme making a huge difference to the green spaces over the morning.

The team worked across the whole of The Tumps and the BMX Track either side of Waterside Drive with sacks provided from the Patchway Town Council Estates team. All sorts of discarded waste was collected including an extremely old bike frame.

At the conclusion of the morning, the team were met by Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence who chatted with the group and the team leaders about the volunteering initiative and the latest opportunities that Nokia offers.

Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ‘It was brilliant to meet this proactive and enthusiastic group from one of our closest business neighbours, though such a prestigious company. Thank you to everyone from Nokia who participated, and we look forward to working with you again in the future’.
