Mayor of Patchway delivers a Christmas book for every primary school student

On 15th December, Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence delivered a Christmas book from the Town Council for every primary school student in Patchway.

The Mayor visited Callicroft Primary Academy and Coniston Primary School in their final week before the end of term with festive bags of books selected for each year group. The Mayor met a group of students from each school and was able to find out how excited the students were getting in the build-up to Christmas.

Ahead of the visits, the books were selected and stamped with the Mayor’s Stamp by the Council officers and allocated to each year group from Reception to Year 6.

Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ’I was delighted to visit our two primary schools in Patchway to deliver this Christmas gift to every child ahead of the Christmas break. This initiative from the Council aims to provide a Christmas moment for the students, and also support their reading development. I wish all the students, parents and teachers in our town a wonderful Christmas and New Year.’
