Patchway Town Council is delighted to announce that the Jason Franklin 3G MUGA pitch at Norman Scott Park has gained Football Association (FA) Approval following a recent test.
This FA approval means that FA affiliated league matches can be played at the 37m x 34m facility in the Junior ranks for ‘5 a side’ and opens up a new offer for local teams as a pitch for the 2024/2025 season and beyond. The approval also highlights the quality of the facility and surface for all users – football and rugby teams for training, youth teams for training and non-league matches, local friends groups and many others.
The facility is now listed on the Football Foundation hosted register HERE with further details still to be added including parking and other facilities.
Patchway Town Council is thankful for the support of Stoke Lane Athletic Football Club in this latest development.
Since 2019, Patchway Town Council has made significant investment into the sporting facilities at Scott Park including the 3G MUGA pitch, 3G cricket nets and the NSP Pavilion which opened in 2022. This investment has markedly increased the numbers of teams, users and residents who utilise the facilities all year round and is testament to the many people and sports groups who have driven these exciting developments.
Secretary of Stoke Lane Athletic Football Club Steve Payne, said ‘Stoke Lane AFC, an FA 2 Star Accredited football club are pleased to have worked with Patchway Town Council towards the approval of the Jason Franklin 3G. This will allow junior teams both from Stoke Lane AFC and the wider community to play league games on the 3G’.
Mayor of Patchway Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ’To gain FA Approval for our 3G pitch is brilliant, and another step forward for Patchway as it continues to emphasize what a fantastic place it is for sport across youth, men and women’s teams. Hats off to everyone involved!’.
