Council installs new security fencing at Jason Franklin 3G MUGA facility at Norman Scott Park

Patchway Town Council has installed new high-tensile wire security fencing at the Jason Franklin 3G MUGA facility at Scott Park. The additional security measure has been installed at the top of the existing fencing to provide a deterrent for increasing incidents of unauthorised access and vandalism to the facility across the spring and summer of 2024.

The measure was approved by Patchway Town Council in July in response to the increased unauthorised access by persons climbing the 4.5 metre fence; to provide a safer and more welcoming environment for authorised users; and to reduce the risk of serious injury to persons from attempts at climbing over the high fence.

Patchway Town Council supports residents and young people across the town to use the facility through the standard booking programme including reduced rates for regular users.

The Council provides use of the facility free of charge for our friends at Foundation for Active Community Engagement (FACE) to run successful sports evenings for young people, and for our schools during the daytime.

Patchway Town Council is not responsible for any injuries sustained in using the 3G facility, or attempting to break into the facility.

You can find out more about the 3G facility and how to book it at https://www.patchwaytowncouncil.gov.uk/the-jason-franklin-3g-facility
