Patchway Town Council and Bradley Stoke Town Council invites the community to a series of inspiring and unifying events as we come together across multiple days to celebrate International Women's Day 2026. This inspiring program highlights the achievements of women, fosters conversations on equality, and promotes cultural diversity.
Councillor Natalie Field, Mayor and Chair of Bradley Stoke Town Council and Councillor for Patchway and Charlton Hayes said; "International Women’s Day is an important reminder of how far we have come and how far we still must go in achieving gender equality. Everyone is welcome at these inspiring events to celebrate women’s achievements, and be part of the journey for change. It has been wonderful to work with all the Town Councils, community groups and organisations such as Southern Brooks and the Brightwell Centre, to put this programme together. Thank you to all the amazing champions and to everyone who has contributed".
Jenny James commented: 'As Councillor for Patchway and Bradley Stoke Town Councils, I am delighted to have worked in partnership to arrange a varied programme of activities to support International Women's Day locally'.
Schedule of events
The main 2026 event is on Saturday 7 March 10am–3pm at the amazing recently opened Spitfire Hangar, Brabazon (BS34 4AE).
This inclusive International Women's Day celebration aims to empower women and girls, particularly those underrepresented in creative and male-dominated industries. It will build confidence, spark inspiration, and offer practical skill-sharing to support personal development, wellbeing, and career progression.
The event brings together local organisations, charities, professionals, and businesses that actively support women, creating opportunities to connect, learn, and share experiences.
Attendees can enjoy dance performances, a fashion show celebrating different cultures, two panel discussions (Women in Creative Industries and Women Working in Traditionally Male Dominated Professions), a taster Clubbercise session and martial arts plus a menopause workshop, interactive activities such as Learning to DJ with Access Creative College plus craft and other activities to inspire younger girls with Turtle CYP and Mamas Bristol. Some free refreshments will be available.
This is a collaborative event with the support of Bradley Stoke Town Council, Patchway Town Council, Charlton Hayes Parish Council, and Almondsbury Parish Council.
