Abuse it – You lose it

A dog bin has been removed from Coniston Road/Tidenham Way junction following constant misuse of the bin by users.  The Estates Team of Patchway Town Council who empty the bins around Patchway on a regular basis, noticed that the bin on Coniston Road/Tidenham Way was being filled with stones.  This misuse created difficulty for the Team during bag removal, due to the increased weight.

Since the bin removal, the Estates Team are now trying to understand why users continue to deposit their dog waste in the spot where the bin once stood, as you will see from the picture.  The Town Council works hard to support a bin round within the town, including an Environmental Operative who litter picks the streets of Patchway four days a week.

The Council therefore asks for support from dog walkers to either take their waste to the next nearest bin available or carry the waste home and dispose of safely.  By depositing bags on the grass verge is actively encouraging others to follow suit and is unacceptable behaviour.

Please help by keeping our green spaces ‘waste free’, creating a safe environment for everyone in the community.
