1625 Independent People - Transforming Lives: New Homes & Opportunities for young people!

1625 Independent People (1625) & Bristol City Council are partnering to create more new homes for young people in the city. Co-designed with young people, the council and 1625 are spearheading the creation of 8-10 brand-new affordable homes designed for young people who are ready to live independently.

1625 say "These homes are a pivotal part of the restoration of Kingsley Hall, 1625's charity base in Old Market. This Grade II* listed building is currently on Historic England’s Heritage at Risk Register and is desperately in need of repair and restoration. With the generous support of The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Bristol City Council, and Historic England, we're transforming Kingsley Hall into a vibrant hub for young people.

The newly restored Kingsley Hall won't just be about providing housing. It'll be a dynamic space where young people can engage in education and training courses, sharpen their culinary skills in our skills kitchen, and even participate in running a youth-led social enterprise café. Kingsley Hall will provide a welcoming and safe environment fostering meaningful connections between young people and their community.

The restoration of Kingsley Hall will ensure the historic building is brought into sustainable, long-term use as a safe and welcoming place where young people can overcome isolation, develop skills, and rebuild their lives."
