The Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence along with over a thousand residents and some festive friends switched on Christmas in Patchway.
On Friday 25th November 2022, Patchway Town Council held their first ever Christmas Light switch on event at Holy Family Church and it was a great success.
The evening started with over thirty local stall holders gathered inside a marquee and the parish hall at the church, all offering something festive for our residents. There were crafts, community information, treats for pets as well as handcrafted items! There were also food and drinks galore as Patchway really got into the festive spirit!
Santa and his really tall elf were in attendance too smiling and waving to all visitors as well as rewarding all children with a gold coin! Music was provided by the brilliant Mini Concerts, whose range of festive hits went down a treat with everyone!
At 7:30pm, after a short speech and a well-timed countdown, the Mayor of Patchway Cllr Dayley Lawrence, pressed down his plunger and Patchway was covered in brilliant illuminations! Firstly, Patchway roundabout lit up before the angels and reindeers on the streetlights came to life too!
After everyone had seen the lights, the focus turned to the really big raffle with over 30 prizes up for grabs! Everyone had their eyes down for a winning ticket for some of the greatest festive prizes ever!
The event was a great success and the community of Patchway really came out to support the first ever switch on event.
Patchway Town Council would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event!
