Patchway Town Council are playing a crucial role in the community

Patchway Town Council have been featured in The National Association of Local Councils 'Points of Light' for their commitment to developing excellent sporting facilities in the Town.

The National Association of Local Councils (NALC) has published the 2021 edition of Points of Light, highlighting the excellent work local (parish and town) councils have done to support their communities.

Points of Light aims to promote good practice and raise awareness of the various services local councils facilitate. Managing the local water supply, providing free breakfast packs for families on low incomes, employing a family support worker, operating a discounted housing scheme and setting up a food bank are just some of the examples contained in this year's edition.

Cllr Sue Baxter, chairman of NALC, says: "The 2021 edition of Points of Light demonstrates the crucial role local councils play in supporting their communities. As the examples show, they have not only continued to deliver existing services during these difficult times but have increased the support they provide to their most vulnerable residents."

Points of Light is a collection of case studies that include summaries and information on the electorate, precept and expenditure that highlight the work of England's 10,000 local councils.
