Our first fireworks event lights up Patchway

Updated: Nov 18, 2022

Patchway’s first ever Firework Event and Display on 4 November drew a huge crowd from across our community for an evening of activities and entertainment across all ages, a delicious selection of food and drinks, and concluding with a spectacular firework and music display that could be seen for miles around. Though the best viewing place was obviously the Norman Scott Park.

Over 2500 residents, visitors and young people were treated to a bonanza build-up of pre-display activity and entertainment including Hook-a-Duck, Kids’ Balloon Modelling, fire performers and the stunning angel on stilts. The singers at Mini Concerts provided two upbeat sets of crowd-pleasers that really got people moving about on their feet as the evening progressed.

Food and drink flowed through the evening courtesy of our friends at The Burger Bus, Scooby Snacks, Buckaroo Boys Pizza, Treat Catering, Cheeky Pancakes, Sweet Bella Boo Retro Sweets, The Booze Box and Deja Brew Coffee. Generous voluntary support for the event came from the 2nd Patchway Scouts, Army Cadets, residents and Patchway Town Council staff.

The evening concluded with an awesome firework display to the music of The Greatest Showman which wowed the 1000s across the Park before people headed home digging deep into their pockets to make a charitable donation as they exited the Park.

The evening raised £568 through ticket sales and on the night donations for the Mayor’s charities which are The Link Club who run regular sessions for young people and adults with learning difficulties, and the 2nd Patchway Scouts.

Mayor of Patchway, Cllr Dayley Lawrence said, ‘I am delighted at the community spirit shown by residents across Patchway to come out in such huge numbers for this exciting new event. And for the generosity of people to support the Mayor’s charities.’

We hope to see you again in 2023!
