At the Annual Meeting of Patchway Town Council held on Tuesday 10th May, Cllr Dayley Lawrence was elected to be the Mayor of Patchway for the ensuing year.
Dayley is passionate about our community and championing equality and community spirit in Patchway. Upon his election as Mayor, Dayley stated ‘I am proud and honoured to take on the role of Mayor of Patchway as this Town has always had a place in my heart. My Great Grandparents first came to Patchway in the late 50’s and I know they would be very proud to see me become Mayor of Patchway. Having worked in the area as a postman, I have really been able to engage with the community on a personal level and as your Mayor, I hope I can continue and grow my relationship with all of our residents. Over the next year, my priority is to bring together our community and restore a sense of pride for where we live. I will be encouraging my fellow Councillors to assist with community cohesion wherever possible and I will ensure that we look out for the most vulnerable people within our community. As your Mayor, I want to ensure that your Council is fully accessible and transparent at all times and I will be championing open and honest conversations and build our future with you.’
Cllr Sam Scott will serve as Vice-Chairman for the ensuing year.
