National Highways operates, maintains and improves England’s motorways and major A-roads and they have advised of the following overnight closures:
M5 J14 to J17 works
A series of overnight closures will begin on the evening of Saturday 20 January to allow us to carry out preparatory works and reconfigure live lane traffic.
We’ll maintain capacity on the M5 via narrow lanes running in both directions between junctions 14 and 17.
Southbound traffic will remain on the southbound carriageway with 3 narrow lanes in place. Northbound traffic will see 2 narrow lanes in place on the northbound carriageway with a third northbound lane running in contraflow on the southbound carriageway.
Full overnight closures will be in place as follows:
M5 J14 to J17, 9pm in the evening to 6am the following morning (subject to traffic flow)
20, 21 and 22 January – southbound only
23, 24, 25 and 26 January – southbound and northbound
27 and 28 January – northbound only
29, 30 and 31 January – northbound and southbound (J14-15 only)
To minimise disruption, we’ll work overnight when there are fewer vehicles on the road. Please follow the signed diversion routes.
During the day the road will be open as usual.
We’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community is kept to a minimum and apologise in advance for any inconvenience these works may cause.
