The Cribbs Patchway Metrobus Extension team have advised the following regarding the new m4 service:
"The launch date for the new m4 bus service has been announced.
The West of England Combined Authority and First Bus have confirmed the new service will start operating on 22 January 2023.
Other details announced include:
▪ The m4 will run between 6am and 11pm on weekdays, with a later start at weekends.
▪ It will run every 20 minutes on Monday to Saturday, and every 30 minutes on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
The route will see fast and direct buses between Cribbs Causeway and Bristol, linking The Mall, Bristol Parkway Station and UWE with the city centre. It will serve communities in Patchway and Stoke Gifford. It will also eventually serve the new Bristol Arena and Brabazon development on the former Filton Airfield.
The bus route includes new bus lanes, cycle and pedestrian pathways, a new, larger bridge on Gipsy Patch Lane, and improvements to the San Andreas roundabout at Cribbs Causeway.
A number of bus stops along the route are also being upgraded to ‘metrobus standard’ including new bus shelters, iPoints, cycle hoops, fully accessible kerbs and CCTV to keep locals safe while travelling.
More information on the m4 announcement is available here."
