About The Project
We are writing to invite residents to a consultation event for a new planned sports pavilion for Norman Scott Park. The project is part of wider investment in community resources in Patchway provided by Patchway Town Council and partly funded by the development of Charlton Hayes major mixed-use development on land to the north of Filton Airfield.
The planning permission to build 2,200 new homes housing an estimated 6,000 residents was granted by South Gloucestershire Council in 2008 with a requirement to invest in the upgrading of the existing community centre and to improve local sports and recreation infrastructure.
The brief is to provide:
- 4 Changing rooms that meet the requirements of Sport England
- 2 Referee's changing rooms
- A garage facility for maintenance and landscaping equipment
- Public Toilets
- A Community Cafe for 75 people, with associated servery, storage and WC facilities
- The provision of 2 disabled parking spaces.
- An office facility.
The two-storey building is arranged with sports facilities
to the ground floor, and the cafe & office facilities to the first floor.
The flat roof of the garage will be used as an external terrace for viewing sport.
The building is sited to provide space for additional formal car parking to the new pavilion, in addition to that provided by the wider site.
You are invited to view the plans and ask questions at our consultation workshop on Friday 25th September and Saturday 26th September.
Alternatively, the plans and boards will be available for
viewing at where the feedback form can be filled in electronically.
If you require more information regarding the consultation you can contact Patchway Town Council by email at or by phone on 01454 868 530.
