Patchway Festival Committee won The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2018
The award was presented by the Lord Lieutenant at a presentation attended by current and previous members of the committee. The festival has now been running in Patchway for 27 years, because of the time and energy put in by a team of amazing volunteers. Les Brooks, who is the Chair for the committee and his wife Rose, were invited to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace on behalf of the committee and commented, "It was an absolutely brilliant day, we had a fabulous time at the garden party and saw the Queen from a distance! Organising the festival can be a lot of work but for us it’s all about community – that’s who we do it for”.
