Southern Brooks Community Partnership was set up over 25 years ago as a partnership between the community associations in Patchway, Bradley Stoke and Avon County Council.
In 1999 the project became a registered charity and since 2014 we became a Charity Incorporated Organisation . Our core funding is through a service commisssion with South Gloucestershire Council and grant funding from Patchway Town Council.
The project has a management committee of councillors, local residents and businesses and we are always keen to hear from anyone who live in the area and would like to get involved.
Our main priorities are working with children and young people, helping families, reducing social isolation and building a strong voluntary sector. Community development is about working with local people to help them identify issues that concern them and to find local answers to local issues.
The patnership offers hands on support, while we firmly believe in people taking responsibility for their own lives and for those of the community. We have a Community Cafe called Brooks Cafe and have a Tranining Department offering courses such as Level 2/3 Youth Work,Community Development, parenting classes , basic food hygiene, cooking to name a few. We also offer IT drop in sessions , a work club and Dementia Awareness sessions The Director is Julie Close .
