
Patchway
is one of 44 Parish and Town Councils in South Gloucestershire ans the
Council has responsibilities for running the playing fields, open spaces,
community centres, allotments and play areas.
The Council's main offices are located on Rodway Road and are open Monday-Friday from 9:00am until 5:00pm.
Scott Park is Patchway's original playing field, situated in Coniston Road. The Park is named after Alderman W.N.Scott in recognition of his public service, the land being donated by developers in 1937. The Park has football and cricket pitches, a floodlit netball court and 5-a-side football areas. Bookings can be made on 01454 868530.
The Tumps is an open space behind Coniston Road, formed by spoil from the tunnel excavations, part of the land is used for a BMX track. The Tumps is designated as a nature area and is managed by Patchway Conservation Group.
Allotments situated on Pretoria and Blakeney Roads are run by the Council.
The Avenue Playing Field is leased from the Distict Council and used by some of the Patchway Football Clubs. It has a football pitch, children's play area and skateboard area. Patchway Common Pavilion is situated here and is used by a pre-school and after school group each day. For evening bookings contact 01454 868 530.
There are Children's Play Areas in Scott Park, Bevington Way, Gorse Covert
Field and the Avenue Playing Field.
Patchway Community Centre on Rodway Road is owned by the Council but leased to the Community Association. Contact 01454 868549 for details or to book a room.
Coniston Community Centre was opened in Sept 1993 but has just moved to new premises beside Charlton Court. There are 2 community rooms, both are accessible to disabled persons. For details contact 01454 868530.
